By denying rodents easy access to their favourite snacks, you make your home less enticing.
Keep tree branches trimmed away from your house. Squirrels are agile climbers and can easily jump onto rooftops from nearby trees. By keeping branches at least six feet away from your house, you reduce the chances of them finding their way inside. With squirrels in mind, consider installing squirrel-proof bird feeders in your garden. These feeders have mechanisms that close off access to food when heavier animals like squirrels try to get in. This will discourage them from visiting your property altogether.

Another option is to use natural deterrents like castor oil or garlic-based sprays. Moles dislike the strong scent of these substances, so applying them regularly on the surface of your lawn can help keep them at bay.
Additionally, keeping your garden well-maintained and free from excess moisture and grubs can make it less appealing for moles. Regularly mowing the grass, removing fallen leaves, and addressing any drainage issues will create an environment that moles find less attractive.
